Darrell Currington is the makerspace facilitator in the Department of Teaching & Learning at the University of Iowa College (UI) of Education. His background is in environmental and industrial design. Prior to joining the UI College of Education in January 2022, Darrell spent 13 years managing the digital fabrication facilities at OCAD University in Toronto, where he supervised a team of humans and robots. Throughout the years, he has consulted with various public and private institutions to design and build educational makerspaces, hoping to share the joy of learning through making. Outside of work, Darrell enjoys being outdoors with his family, building crazy contraptions, and playing hockey.
